About Chemtex

Today’s Chemtex is a global technology and engineering solution provider.  With strong process engineering and R&D competencies and an ability to leverage 70 years of manufacturing excellence, we deliver project for our clients in the PET/polyester, LNG, energy & environmental, fibers and petrochemical industries throughout the world.

With approximately 400 staff located in key international centers, Chemtex’s mission is to help its clients realize the lowest total installed cost (TIC) for their projects.  We add value by:
  • Providing comprehensive technology transfer packages comprising basic engineering services, key equipment supply and technical field support as a core offering;
  • Utilizing our global sourcing network and leveraging our access to manufacturing experience to realize lowest prices, highest quality and optimal delivery schedules;
  • A commitment to continuous improvement leveraging our in-house R&D capabilities and access to manufacturing know-how for process development and optimization; and,
  • Providing additional scope of services on an as requested basis to support project development and implementation.

Chemtex was founded as Rayon Consultants in 1947.  In 2004, Chemtex was acquired by the Mossi Ghisolfi Group.  The Company today belongs to the M&G Chemicals Group of companies, which is also part of the Mossi Ghisolfi Group, and has operations in Wilmington, NC in the USA, Beijing and Shanghai in the People’s Republic of China and Bangalore in India.

Biochemtex, previously known as Chemtex Italia, headquartered in Tortona, Italy, delivers project solutions for the biofuels and biochemicals industries based on Beta Renewables’ market leading PROESA® Technology for the production of fermentable, cellulosic sugars for biochemical and/or biofuels. Biochemtex is part of the the Mossi Ghisolfi Group, but is independent from the M&G Chemicals Group.
